CENTRO DE DIFUSIÓN Y ESTUDIOS DE LA FOTOGRAFÍA
El Centro de Difusión y Estudios de la Fotografía es un proyecto, sin fines de lucro, ubicado en Santiago de Chile. En su primera etapa, un año, tuvo el apoyo de la Fundación Hasselblad de Suecia. El proyecto funcionó desde 1993 hasta el año 2000.
En su misión estaba el trabajo con Talleres de Fotografía Social y el desarrollo de un eje de difusión y reflexión en torno a la fotografía, tanto chilena como extranjera.
El Centro abrió paso para la creación de la galería Contraluz, la revista Fotografías y la realización de Talleres Sociales, además de organizar múltiples iniciativas como conferencias, seminarios, mesas redondas y tener invitados extranjeros. Destaca haber traído a Chile, por primera vez,la exposición de World Press Photo y organizado un Seminario Internacional con importantes editores y fotógrafos a nivel mundial.
The Diffusion and Studies Center of Photography is a nonprofit project, located in Santiago de Chile. In its first stage, each year, had the support of the Hasselblad Foundation of Sweden. The project ran from 1993 to 2000.
In its mission it was working with Social Photography Workshops and the development of an axis of diffusion and reflection about photography, both Chilean and abroad.
The Center opened a path for the creation of the gallery Contraluz, magazine Fotografías and the development of many Social Workshops, organizing many initiatives such as conferences, seminars, roundtables and receiving foreign guests. The center brought to Chile for the first time the exhibition of World Press Photo and organized an international seminar with leading publishers and photographers worldwide.
